We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common !
Sheesh you're close to me, I would drive up for the races but I am totally booked with things to do on a couple of boats, cars, trucks, it's brutal. Did not know about the races, what kind of boats are they runnning, of course am totally hooked on the Antique Race Boat Regatta they hold at Clayton every other year. If you have not seen the Clayton scene, you really should schedule that one.
I don't recall at all seeing the angled intake you mention. I think that intake is a dead stock Ford intake and nothing at all about it is marine in any way. Could be wrong, but that is certainly my impression and I think I'm right. The Eddy aluminum job would be a direct swap.
I'm not so sure one of our guys didn't use the Performer RPM on a 427 rebuild, and that particular motor also used the hyperutetic pistons that melted. I'm not so sure the RPM intake didn't contribute to the blow torch effect that cooked that motor. In any case, they were eventually rebuilt back to stock or near stock specs and are working well now.
Hey have a great day up there at Green Turtle, lucky dog!
