We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common !
I forgot to mention that I used your suggestion and bought this from HiPerformer or S&J Engine out of Spokane. The original engine in this boat was a 307 but the PO replaced that with a 350. I stayed with the 350 because ... well 350 is MORE than 307. (boater's logic)
It's a flat top piston so the compression ratio is 8.8:1. The engine is a 4 bolt, standard rotation, 68-84, port side dipstick, 2 piece rear seal, (that's important) supposedly "marine" engine, though I suspect the "marine" part is stricly maketing. It looks like any other engine.
The price was very fair. (1380.00) and shipping was a bargain 150 bucks from Spokane. Arrived in 3 days in an extremely robust package that could have been used to return the core, but mine is strictly boat anchor material. I am hopeful all is well, but the engine is warranted if there is a problem.
