We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common ! Just start by posting a note introducing yourself to the group, that's all it takes here (we don't ask for or retain any personal information here, because our intention is to just "have fun and share information".
I am at Kentucky Lake for a Lucas Oil Drag Boat event. I drive a 1/4 mile Top Eliminator (9 second) Alcohol Hydro. It is my father's team and I also help build and tune the engines and ignition system.
Regarding the intake, next time you are on your boat take a close look at the carb and intake and let me know if the angle of the carb flange is the same as the angle of the valve cover gasket surface. I am almost certain that mine are angled to level out the carb, which is done with angled spacers on more modern inboard marine engines. Now you have me wondering about mine. I agree, they have a Ford casting number.
