Response to RE bent pushrods |
| David,
Ouch, that sucks. Since the lifter is out, is it still in one piece? It sounds like you will be taking the rocker shaft assemblies and the intake manifold off. The head should not have to come off, unless of course the original problem is with the head. I don't think you will be able to get that lifter to stand back up and go in its hole, you can barely see them, but is worth a try. Got a nice telescoping magnet? The problem with trying is the risk of dropping something deeper in the engine. There should be a metal tray under the intake manifold that the pushrods go through which will likely prevent you from getting ahold of and moving the lifter in a way that you can stand it back up straight with its hole. The lifter will probably want to roll toward the back of the engine since the engine is angled.
Let us know how things go.
