We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common ! Just start by posting a note introducing yourself to the group, that's all it takes here (we don't ask for or retain any personal information here, because our intention is to just "have fun and share information".
...They are Attwood, with the exact same part number stamped on them as the beat-up ones that came off the boat. They are the same gauge of stainless steel, and they are from outside the country made by Attwood, or "for" Attwood under license. The finish is very good. Looking closely I can tell these were manufactured on a different spot welding machine than the originals were, but both the old ones and new ones use two points of welding contact on each side of each vent louver, the only difference is the new ones are side by side horizontally, and the old ones were side by side on a slant. They are an exact drop-in replacement to the stock 1973 Lancer inboard vent.
Since the vents are subject to damage during docking, as my originals were, the price for these "consumables" is a good one.
Beware, these same vents are being sold now for $52 (each) at some of the Chris Craft Parts houses, and there is NO difference in quality between the ones coming off my boat and these vents I just got at a cost of $28 each. One must take note about that $23 difference in price, when it comes to price shopping.
