We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common ! Just start by posting a note introducing yourself to the group, that's all it takes here (we don't ask for or retain any personal information here, because our intention is to just "have fun and share information".
Yes it's a Chris Craft.........but it is a product from a transitioned management team at Chris Craft, and may have been affected by new ownership as well. I do not think someone else built this for CC, as you asked. I do know Boat US took CC to task on some of the construction techniques CC was using under what I surmise was new management, because this sort of thing would NEVER have happened during the classic main Chris Craft Commander production run; and apparently CC was actually cutting the hollow fiberglass box beam construction in order to more easily install wiring, so the story goes, and I understand CC quickly corrected this after being dragged into court by insurance resulting hull failure claims via Boat US. One quick look in the bilge would tell you if your particular boat used the cutting technique, which I doubt you will find.
