I checked hundreds of condensers on EBay and on line. All are standard one wire noise supression type and have to be grounded.
The condenser on this alternator is a "pass thru" type. A screw terminal on each end so all the alternator power goes through it. The short wire on one end goes to the alternator output and the other end attaches to the charging wire to the battery. Some articles I read said this type is required to smooth out the alternator output. A regular noise suppressor type won't work the same.
