We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common ! Just start by posting a note introducing yourself to the group, that's all it takes here (we don't ask for or retain any personal information here, because our intention is to just "have fun and share information".
I think it has Chris Craft written all over it in retrospect. I think it is a Thompson design with very little of Chris Craft's influence. IF you look at the early advertising for this design, it is labelled as a Thompson and has Thompson's name on the stern. The ads say "Thompson, a subsidiay of Chris Craft". CC bought the company and continued to market that design with their name on it. The later Corsair had more of the CC influence even though the basic boat was very much like those '63s and '64s.
It's like when Edelbrock bought Carter carburetor. They put their name on it but it was still a Carter design. I'm sorry if my view may upset some CC purists, but I believe CC took a very well designed boat by Thompson, put their name on it, then improved on it quite a bit from '65 on. I do love Chris Crafts but I also like to keep history in check.
