We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common ! Just start by posting a note introducing yourself to the group, that's all it takes here (we don't ask for or retain any personal information here, because our intention is to just "have fun and share information".
As for the shaft length I haven't even gone there yet. What i am thinking, based on what i have seen so far with this project is that it is probably original. The cutlass bearing seems worn and i am concerned about shaft condition inside that!
Anything is on the table for the engine. when i got the boat the engine was siezed and had been run in the salt a lot. The only things i have done so far is to get a replacement 350 block and heads, have the q intake blasted. concerns with that intake and prices for replacement q intake had me pick up an airgap RPM intake and aluminum wedge. (about $100 for both) Oh yeah I picked up a distributor because the shaft length on the Q distributor seemed too short for the RPM manifold. My goal is the get the boat (1972 Lancer Inboard) to hit about 40 mph. I see the Paragon rated for 260 HP. that only gives me about 25HP wiggle room. I would very much prefer to stick with the P32AR but i sure don't want to blow that thing up 5 miles offshore.
