We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common ! Just start by posting a note introducing yourself to the group, that's all it takes here (we don't ask for or retain any personal information here, because our intention is to just "have fun and share information".
Not to keep reviving this thread with no new potential outcomes but I just noticed something.
Talking previously about how the thermostat housing on the intake manifolds are different than stock gm manifolds. And then I was just going through my parts manual I noticed something strange. On one page for the intake it lists the thermostat on the bottom of the intake. Then on another page for the closed cooling section it lists the thermostat as being on the heat exchanger assembly...I thought it was strange that the engine would have two thermostats.
Started to bug me so I grabbed a flashlight and went out to the boat...Looks like the Q engines have two totally different intakes depending on cooling system.my intake is totally baren on the back side...no thermostat housing.
Not sure if this changes anything into our search for using new intakes or not...I just had to share my findings. I can post a pic if anyone wants a look.
I also could be looking at these engine diagrams backwards too.
