Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common ! Just start by posting a note introducing yourself to the group, that's all it takes here (we don't ask for or retain any personal information here, because our intention is to just "have fun and share information".

Not sure about OMC.... but Mercruiser uses a rubber hose from the upper drive housing to the gimbal housing, this flexibly hose allows tilting and trimming of the drive. Problem is it's prone to kinking and taking a "set" with age especially if left in a raised position for prolonged periods of time. This "set or kink" restricts water flow to the cooling system. Sometimes the short piece of hose splits open, in this case the engine will overheat when the drive is trimmed or tilted up thus opening the split, but run normal with the drive all the way down closing the split. Just an idea and something to check clue what OMC/Chris Craft was using to plunb water to their engines.
