We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common !
I saw the note come in and I read a little bit of it and then I called Janet. I said "hey Janet, come in here I'd like you to hear something". She came in and sat down in the living room, where I'm presently checking my emails and watching the Colts vs Jets on TV with the sound off.
So I started reading the entire essay. As I read I kept thinking "this could be me" writing this essay, as I too experienced very similar fun, but not with a larger boat. My childhood boating was all done with a runabout. In any case, still very similar joy and fun with boats.
As I read on I got to the point where the family acquired a cruiser, and at that point I paused. I just about choked up. I didn't let Janet know, but I had to hide it. After she said "that was very nice" and left the room, I dried my eyes.
It "IS" what boating is all about, sharing fun, being with family, creating memories. People ask me "how can you afford to have a boat like that", or something similar, and I always think, "how can I NOT afford to have a boat like that". With all the good times and good will I've been able to create and share with that old boat, I would have it NO OTHER WAY.
Thanks so much for sharing that with us. I may well include that in the second printing of the book, with permission and credits of course.
