Hi Richard, thanks for the reply. The 318 Chrysler is a great engine and should provide good service and lots of fun. I hear you on the salt water. I've never maintained a boat used in anything except fresh water but have read the horror stories in the Boat US mags about the mortality rate of cooling system parts. They suggest manifolds and risers be checked anually and replaced in 3-4yrs which I know is a huge expense and a lot of work. You must have a huge case of boatitus to put up with it with a raw water system in the salt. I will be watching your progress with great interest. One part of the boat that may actually do better in saltwater is the hull which is less prone to blistering in salt than in warm freshwater.
