Back in the late 1990's, I replaced the tanks on a 42' Sportfish that I owned with my dad. In that boat there were two tanks under the cockpit sole that layed next to each other separated by about 4" in the center. They were about 15" high by about 8' long and maybe 5' across each. I had to remove the entire cockpit sole to get them out, but it was not as hard a job as I thought it was going to be. If you aren't aready, perhaps you should be talking to a fiberglass guy. They should be able to tell you the best way to cut, in order to reglass into place.
