Remember the notorious sinking on Lake Michigan, large wood Constellation ??

I believe it was a 65 or 66' Constellation. All painted up, attention given to the cosmetics but apparently not much given to the expensive parts (below the water line). Even the photos showed planks springing from lack of fasteners, and she went out into a big chop and the entire front end dropped off and it sank like a rock, engines were undoubtedly still hot when they reached the bottom of Lake Michigan.
Wood boats can be very very strong but they do need someone who knows what they are doing, and is willing to spend the necessary cash to maintain them properly.
