CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris-Craft Commander series. This is an independent not-for-profit and non-commercial web site, not affiliated with the Chris Craft Commander Club ~~ or ~~ Chris-Craft Corporation. Our mission here is to "have fun and share information" about the Commander series (and those associated fiberglass boats on the Chris-Craft family tree) for your individual personal use, and by doing so help promote the good name of Chris-Craft, and help preserve, restore, and appreciate Chris-Craft boats. The main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX File which contains what we believe to be the world's largest collection of documentation photos and technical information on the Chris-Craft Commander line of boats, (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic first 38 Commander styled by Fred Hudson, and many of the great Dick Avery renditions that followed) , (a huge collection of Chris-Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the forum.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !" Come on in, make yourself at home, we are a friendly group of enthusiasts, and we also appreciate the classic Chris Craft Roamer, Corsair, and Lancer boats too , as they are all on the same family tree and share much in common !

Purchased from a man locally that didn't have time to Restore. I don't know a lot about the boat. Any information would be great. My hull numbers are ORAZ 19 0127 N. if anyone knows anything from these numbers it would be a big help in getting the accuracy of the project squared away. I believe it's a 1968. The top is in its second coat of primer, ready for a last coat then the gelcoat. The hull is almost ready for primer.
The engine is a 1969 Mercruiser 160hp inboard. The original engine was seized and not able to be turned over with a long pole for leverage. I removed the old transom wood and installed sheets of ply with the same shape. These were glassed in for a refit. Bilgekote was used over the glass on the inside. I will cut the hole and bolt the outdrive after the hull is painted. I removed the top and hardware for body work and have included a few photos. Any knowledge would be great. I'd like to learn as much as possible.

edit comment: Photos restored: I copied the "direct link" that appears in a photobucket album under the individual thumbnail view you see when you review your photos by just placing a cursor on the thumbnail. When the choices appear, copy the "direct link" and paste it here on The Forum. That works so much better than the automatic photobucket feature they place on this forum that I don't use and would like to get rid of! Good seeing you on the forum, great project you have, send me an email if I can help in any way, best, Paul
