........it may include winter handeling, launching and hauling, as well as slip, water, and electric.............but not fuel, beer, more beer, boat parts and did I say beer?
I am at a private YC where we either had to buy our new docks at break-even construction cost or move, many years ago, so it is not a typical evaluation. We still pay a fee and electric each month
Now what Chris didn't say about Gem Beach, it is one of the swankiest places to have a boat anywhere in the entire region, complete with a swimming pool, and cough, cough, white sand beach. Here is the list
Fish Cleaning Area
Heated Pool & Splash Pad
Full Service Restaurant and Bar
"The groomed beach is a favorite spot for families to enjoy a variety of beach activities. Overlooking the lake is a spacious grassy park area for family picnics or playing games. The beach and park are within a short walking distance from our docks."
Oh and did I say a bar and restaurant too?
In any case, Gem Beach is a pretty high end location and facility. The cost seems high to me, but it depends on what all comes with the package.
If winter storage and hauling/launching is with the package that is different, but if that is extra, yikes.
Locally here in TN, at Rock Harbor Marina just a couple miles from where I am, the rent for a 50' slip is about $500 per month + electric. They have a full service haul/out and repair capability, restaurant, bar, but no swimming, inner tubing, sun bathing, beach volleyball, picknicking, playground, frisbee playing, fish cleaning area, pool, beach, and the facility looks a bit on the industrial side, and the water is the Cumberland River and not azure Lake Erie. Gem Beach on the other hand looks like a resort!
