Honestly, I take all of my photos in "auto" mode. If I use nighttime or other modes, the camera takes a few seconds to finally snap the photo and the time it takes the photo is usually long enough that it is very blurred. I've never figured out the functions and have found "auto" seems to work best with my Canon A85.
