Wow...the night before was a long one. Very nice though.. Nerdo and I got to talk alot and I had an opportunity to backseat drive like a mutha!!!

We were treated to a very nice room at the VAsstun Ho(s)tel. We had a nice bunk bead with a view and we could hear the roar of the river. Very relaxiing. This is what we woke up to in the front of the Vasstun.
After a night of great rest and being really relaxed, I was feeling a tiche on the amorous side. Nerdo properly repelled my advances so I fell back into one of my old habits from SC.
That's right...I made out with a slug right there nxt to the river. You gotta problem with that?! Hey come on, I did the right thing. I called it a cab.

VAsstun Ho(s)tel was great. I was going to give the web site, but can't find the card I took. Oh well, it's a great place. If we'd had an opportunity to stay in Odda, I think it would have been a top hole place to use as a base camp.
Here are a couple pics of waterfalls driving North on Hwy 13 ,and away from Odda. We were originally going to hike to a glacier, but discovered that morning in the lobby of Vasstun, that it was enveloped in fog, and we wouldn't be able to see it at all. So we pusehd on toward Gudvangen. Thes pics are looking across the Southern most arm of Eldfjordan.
We drove, mostly Northerly on 13, along the shore of Eidfjordan for several kilometers. Wish I had my map. We passed an area that is well known for it's orchards...Cherries were for sale all over the place. Every time I thought I wanted to have some, I saw the price and got dizzy , and Nerdo just kept going.

The lines of orchards on the hillsides are very cool, but I didn't get any pics.
The entire way to our destination of Voringfossen, the Hardangervidda National Park was immediately at our East. I'm pretty sure that's where the glacier we werent'able to hike to is located.
There was an area we both really liked as you can see form the delish grins we both have in these very natural photos.
We stopped at a roadside store to get some coffee and while Nerdo made a telephone call or two, I took a few pics of the Eidfjorden's main body.
Just up the road a piece from the roadside store, is the ferry to take us across the fjorden and to the road to Vossen on the other side. We passed it for a quick trip to Voringfossen Waterfall. Here are a few of the reasons it was a good idea to go a little out of our way.
The story of Voringfossen. It's a shame that much of the water is harnessed for hydro power. Beautiful none the less.
Perhaps a bit of a video is in order.
This is the flag of the "Northeners". Is that what they're called Nerdo? I can't remember.
Nerdo risks her neck for a good look.
And the result was that she got sa few really great shots that make me want to fall over and curl up.
Lots of wild loganberries and blueberries up there. It was cool to chow on the wild stuff
Nerdo contemplates whether it's best to just leave me behind.
There's gold in Nerdo's head!!!
Hot model shows off her new threads.
We backtracked to the place where we were to cross Eidfjorden and got on the ferry.
It was a gorgeous ride. Who'd a thunk it!
After crossing on the ferry, we got through et another tunnel, and headed up a twisty , turney mountain road and came upon this just about 10 or 15 kilometers outside of Voss.
A nice, not so understandable couple, took a pic of Nerdo and I
How about another little video?
After we got through Voss (we just hit the outskirts) we made a run for Gudvangen. The only stop was this waterfall and rainbow pic. While I took pictures, Nerdo bought me an ice cream bar. What a woman!!!
This is the first waterfall entering the valley leading to Gudvangen
And now I give you two pictures of the Gudvangen area, known to Nerdop and I as "Rivendell"
And yes, this installment is only Part 1 of Day 6. Lucky you!!!!
