It was indeed a bummer to know that this would be the last dayof Norway adventures. One must buck up and plod on though, and Nerdo and I plodded to some beautiful areas. After cleaning up the cabin, we got out of Dodge and headed for Undredal. This is the village that has the nation's smallest Stave church. As Nerdo mentioned, the cost of going in was a bit on the not so reasonable side, so we opted to appreciate the exteriour of the building.

However, the village itself is quite nice, and picture perfect. Take a gancer at a couple street photos.

While we were on out travels, someone posted a picture of a car that was smashed up and jokingly indicated it was due to Nerdo's lack of driving prowess. I can't find the picture, but if you can ocate the picture, it's allmost a dead ringer for the car we were travelling in. Nerdo and I got a great chuckle out of it.

After leaving Undredal, it was time to head for the Laerdals Tunnel. It's a 24.5 kilometer long tunnel that could easily make someone a bit clausterphobic I'm sure.

[/IMG]
It's so long, that in three areas of the tunnel, large "rooms" have had these bright blue lights installed to break up the erie darkness. This picture reminds me of listening to Pink Floyd as a teenager.

Here is a short video of the blue light special area.
After passing through the Laerdsdals Tunnel, it was time to beat it to the Borgund Stave Church. Nerdo has posted some great pics, but I am going to post some more. The structure is deserving of much attention. I even bought a booklet about it's history I was so fascinated with it. It's oooooooooooooooooooooooooold, and the skill of the craftsmen who built it is obvious to anyone. Take a look-see at even more pics. I hope I haven't duplicated anything that Nerdo already put up.

As Nerdo mentioned, taking pictures on the inside is verbotten. Likley due to them trying to preserve teh colors from the flash. I took this from the outside looking in, you can see some detail, though not much. Guess you'll just have to go there.

A short video tour waking around the Borgund stave church.
If ever you are in this neck of the woods and you are looking for man-made stuff to "oooooooooh" and "aaaaaaah" over, I highly recommend this church.
AFter leaving Borgund, it was time to run the home stretch back to Oslo, down E16, toward Honefoss. There would be plenty to see along the way back. Here are a few pics from the road.

These old buildings are really cool.

This is one of Nerdo's old haunts. She tells me this is quite the place to whoop it up. IT's in the ski town of Hemesdal

Coming down the hill into Oslo, I asked Nerdo to pull over so that I could take a picture of one of the two sunsets I saw while there. I believe this is overlooking the Tyrifjorden. Can you confirm that Nerdo?

We made a bee line to Bloom's place to pick her up so we could hang out. I think that it is possible that the three of us could have easily ended up jabbering until the sun came up.

The most important sign of the trip
[IMG]

[/IMG]
Nerdo and I did a good job not eating junk food on the trip, but had to go to the Golden Arches at the airport on my last night there. Take a gander at those prices! 75 kroner = $13.05 for a "value meal". Whew...McD's is getting rich in Norway!

Those were "Happy Meals"!

What would a trip to Norway be with out making out with the hottest members of the Norwegian chapter of the Scotottalot Harem!!!! OK, OK....Maybe we didn't make out, but a girl can dream.

p
This was such a fantastic trip. Nerdo and Bloom both worked
very hard to get me information and make my trip possible. I would have been lost without them. By the time I left, I was wishing that I lived there. They were so accommodating and didn't yell at me when I asked how to say something for the 80th time. This was the best vacation I've ever had. I just can't say enough about the "Norwegian girls"
I have day 9 to post yet, but it's just me, so not nearly as exciting as all the rest of the pics.
Tusentakk again Nerdo and Bloom!
