re: male /female theoryby Murph
Unfortunately most alleged sightings are of a single creature and not the male and female together.Once you see them together it's a lock. Besides old Al Ostman and myself I have not heard of another. There was the MoMo from Missourri area who had a completely hair covered face and wailed constantly.Obviously a lone female unhappy with her circumstances. And a couple of others that should not have taken a Sherlock Holmes to figure out the sex of what they saw out there. The ugly naked hairy giant women who picked the fish off the ice by the fish house in Minnesota.I think if true,it was another female squatch in desperate circumstances.I think they move around just like all the other creatures of the woods, with a summer place, a winter place for starters and maybe some overnights and extended stays under the stars in areas of cyclical food ripenings. But for the most part,I believe she is not the provider for the family and if those past reports have validity. She can barely fend for herself in the wild. There are lots of wildlife who migrate and those routes are known perhaps better by locals than any DNR. Bears we know the top spot is the St.Croix and the top spot of all is near Danbury. This has been known for centuries on end.The bear move between summer berry bushes in Wisconsin and wintering areas in Minnesota.Likewise the moose migrate between summer waterplant areas and winter areas of taller willows. The deer will hole up in swampy, grassy areas in winter once the snow gets too deep.If it also has some southern exposed hillsides adjacent to it all the better.Think comfort and food.
