Ranger girlsby Murph
are actually coeds working for the forest service and checking campsites and river conditions and etc is their summer job. Each year there is a new batch and so each year you have to direct their attention on the section of river you want info from. These gals are not DNR stooges and such and the info you get is pretty good.Treat 'em well and look out for them and they'll look out for you!Up here the Forest Service is the law on that narrow strip of land along the upper St Croix and Namakagon rivers. I have never met one that was not helpful, friendly and refreshingly candid. You could meet a lot worse on your journeys. Real people doing something to help cheechako's like you survive your summer vacation! Be polite and take their advice.
