when I started compiling information.YOU have to visit libraries, local museums, newspaper micro fiche caches and talk to elders to learn what I have idiot. You have to get off your duff and computer and go outdoors and discover! The "pase a lours" map could have been made by any number of french adventurers,Duluth,Tonty, Grosseliers,Marquette and dozens of others who dared to explore here. In addition many elders can show you what they and their families have in the way of info, artifacts and such. What you seek cannot be found sitting in a chair and hoping.I can tell you this much Fort Avione near Yellow lake here is not located where the replica that stands today. In fact there were two forts very close to one another.Only myself, perhaps some very old local historical society members and the devil himself know where those posts once stood.I don't share information like that so don't bother to ask.Do your own homework junior! Not all facts are on the net and most of what you find there is generic heresay and not the pinpoint accuracy you need to succeed. It's hard work. |
