Weather

by Maggie

It is warm and sunny here in Arizona. It is a dry heat too. The only place Big Guy is at is underground. It doesn't have to be a cave. His arms and shoulders are big enough to dig a hole and make his own cave. Just a thought.

cave excavations

by Murph

The type of soil here and I bet out there[sand] an excavation would be better made from at or near the top of a ridge than at the base.Unless it is made in the underlay of sandstone bedrock that is exposed and in cliffs in a few places.Perhaps near the surface but not showing at ground level and of course and maybe most likely from underwater and then up.Underwater is where most of the sandstone would be accessible to our boy.And the toughest["impossible maybe"]for a searcher to find, perhaps that is why a den has not been found.

cave

by Maggie

Other researchers have gone over and over this for years. It has been surmised by other people that underwater entrances may be the answer for some. Others may live in natural caverns where available. Of course, their entrances would be well camouflaged.

St Croix just one example

by Murph

of the intervention of modern men on the environment. At one time before all the trees were cut down. The river was much narrower and deeper. The rain waters running undergound cut ever deeper into & under the sandstone bedrock before entering the river. Those shallow aquifers left caves in their wake. However after the trees were gone the river filled with sand and rock and became much wider and shallower from the erosion.Early explorers mention mermen that swam in the river but disappeared under the water at the approach of their canoes. It is possible that some of those underwater cave openings were re opened by Sassy once the commotion was over and things became less unpredictable. So that today those old and now dry spring tunnels that fed the river may well be cozy safe sanctuaries for the hairy ones.Only time and a lucky searcher will ever find out the truth.

Warm spell on the way

by Murph

for the past three days a noticeable increase in the numbers and variety of birds up here.Maybe this warm spell will be a lasting one.Couldn't help but notice that the earthquakes have started to migrate along their faults.this could be good or bad for other areas.Large volcanic eruptions such as Redoubt in Alaska and the Yellowstone basin could even set loose long dorment Minnesota fault displacements.

Funny you should say that about the birds. We have had birds from Canada and birds that generally winter further south at our feeders during the last week. It is strange.

Interesting.

We have had articles in our local paper about the birds returning earlier this year. Although the weather does no justify their return so soon. In MO they say, they have returned early but, struggling to survive because of lack of food.

once said" what one fears,he destroys". So nobody is ever going to get everything they want on Bigfoot on the internet. If you can't find him and capture him.Maybe it's best to just hand the research down to someone you trust.Sooner or later the truth will become known about the creatures existance or not.

I thought i'd share some lessons learned...the hard way.

by Doc Bigfootseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

medium weather military goose feather mummy bag...not. it actually absorbed alot of moisture even in fog..6#qualofil bag... not necessary and too bulky.what i did finally settle on is a light bag that is nylon shell and cloth inside with a cheesy inside liner...but you know what? it works fantastic! I rollup in my tarp and wala warm city and comfort too!works till about 40degress very comfortably.weight a little over 2# next was the stove.now many people use stoves I like mine why? because it burns darn near anything even mogas.never use indoors or in a tent burning anykind of fuel! next was the cooking utensils a one gallon alum.pot /lid I can fry, boil, steam,or by usung my small pot inside making a dutch oven for biscuits and such.My ultimate goal was 35pounds total weight And having 14days food as part of the weight. It was'nt easy I'll tell ya.forget drycell sleeping mat and tent for starters. And so many little things like condiments and spices make all the difference in comfort and longevity in the field when your spirits get down some by bad weather.I have a small transistor radio and ear speaker for really boring times.Sometimes people follow my flute music to my camp.thats always a hoot. When I ask them they usually say they were curious where the sounds werecoming from.I hope Biigy gets curious too someday. Can't say enough about map and compass skills,or no camp fires,or talking as a hunter that should be a given to all "field researchers"Well there you are a little something to read for tonight.

You just gotta admire John Muir-and his field knowledge

by Doc Bigfootseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

What a avid camper that guy was,a piece of canvas tarp and very little else, yet he explored, thrived and ultimately overcame all obsticles in his way AND made a life for himself in the process.Mr Uwel Gibbons was another fine woodsman and explorer, pine nuts(pinion) and wild onions,etc....no fiearms either! not necessary...Now if your in the Alaskan bush yea a firearm is necessary.I finally got my junk down to 3 1/2gallon ziplock bags.Still working on the coat of many things. An invention in the works. If I can figure out how to get a 3man rubber raft and paddles in the coat I'll be one happy man.Of course a guy could use a small air mattress and just float my stuff and tag along with my stuff on top but.....them thar snappers.....sometimes moutain lakes and or valleys creeks and rivers pose a far greater risk crossing than the very real possibilty of a severely twisted ankle or heaven forbid a broken leg.Be Prepared...but....be aggresive in your field training before you venture beyond cell phone range and chopper extraction. This I believe is the number one problem people out in the "Big Dark woods"have.Lack of training.Something as simple as a skunk or raccoon or even owl attack can make a trip to the bush turn into a trip to the emergency room or worse! And for goodness sakes donot use emergency flairs in the forest use a field mirror much more effective.

that you try to pass this stuff off as fact or hard earned knowledge. Owl and skunk attacks? You are just talking out your butt, you have no idea what you are talking about. Every time you post the only thing you accomplish is making yourself sound like an idiot. A rubber raft? That may work in your bathtub but it would not make in the real world.

They are worthless

by danbury242

I think you need to spend some time in the "Big Dark Woods". Rabies can cause skunks and coons to attack but it is pretty uncommon. Owl attacks? When? where? You would know the answers if you were as "experienced" as you say. You can not be if you think an owl may be a threat to a person. Take your rubber raft and plastic oars down a woodland stream, see how far you make it. You will not make it far. Watch out for the snappers! By the way it is BITE, buckoooooo

black squirrels and Sasquatch

by Murph

The black ones were once the dominent variation in the northern pine country until the pines were cut down.Being black it was easier to hide in the thick shadowy world of the pine forests, the black fur allowed them to soak up rays of sun from the tree top perches in winter.Soon after the grey squirrels became more and more numerous and moved north. Is it the same with Bigfoot? Now that the pines are growing back and more land is being protected are the black ones making a comeback? Is that why there are more sightings than in the past or just more people to see what was always there? No researcher should disregard the past when contemplating going after those wily old Squatches. As the country warmed the southern varieties of orayfish started to steadily march north and still are.Does that have any effect in drawing more Sasquatches to the area.We will never know until someone finds more of the answers. I think you would do well to heed the thought that any area that you search must have the variety of food sources, good water and physically comfortable micro climates and the topography that makes those climates. As a complex being Sasquatch has shown that he has the skills to use all those things to his advantage and remain safe from our little invasions and hunting seasons and all.Rehashing left coast sightings makes for some good reading and an occasional clue. But nothing but practise and fresh air hunts will give you the perspective on many of the unknowns that you seek.Don't be afraid but don't be foolhardy either.Man Vs Wild is something of a comedy and Bear will one day break his leg and Les will someday actually catch a fish.Yet,they are using just a fraction of the knowledge they should have and are downright dangerous to immitate in thee real woods and swamps. No wonder they are always shivering and cold or starving out there! It's all so unneccessary!

Thanks for tracking up all the good spots, hahaha

by Murph

not to find anything. As for burrows and caves. You need a long thin probe to poke into the lower hillsides on the Minnesota side of the river to find one.Few are exposed and those are usually camoflaged by the finders. As for Bigfoot again, you think he is without skills like yourself.I assure you he is more than capable. When you find the article about the Clearwater area bigfoot lair and large skeletons. You will note that the sketch of how they were seated shows an obvious Bigfoot made inner wall of fitted stones.Stone masonry is likely one of his many skills. The spot also had a maximum solar south orientation to it.Unfortunately the cover up of such things as were often found in the 1880's was pretty thourough and still exists to this day.Unfortunately also, any eyewitnesses are all gone.Exposed bedrock can be found in lots of spots, most expecially the area north of Grantsburg that you can easily see from the river and on either side off the river in many places where the original valley was cut. Which can be a mile or more off the rivers edge. Most everything worth finding is buried either on purpose or by father time and the elements. You've got to be better at what you do.

we are

by danbury242

So, if murph and footsieeee are to believed: we are looking for a subterranean, hibernating, semi-aquatic, fishing, Bi- bipedal, hairy, ape. So if this is true where are the caves, burrows.
Murph's sighting area has very little exposed, if any, bedrock(St. Croix river valley, north of Grantsburg WI) near where Murph sighted bigfoot. Judging by the massive amount of snowmobile tracks on the St. Croix this winter are we to believe that no one else has saw a fishing bigfoot. Exposed bedrock, mining or other human disturbance is needed for caves to be found. Where are the caves? The answer is, none in the Danbury area . Do you (murph) have any evidence of caves/burrows in the Danbury area? If they are around you must have found one. Where???? I happen to believe that Bigfoot exists, I have saw something I can not explain. Do I know the answers? I do not. Do I make up scenarios in an attempt to explain my sighting, I do not.

To the guy with at least new names used weekly.

by Anonymous

He said if I gave him my address he would send me his. I posted my address and have been waiting since for mail or a ost of his. He claims he made the current standards for DNA used but, no proof when asked for it. He claims he was the one that a Texas television station relied upon. He claims he lives in Minnesota but did not even know what HYVEE was. He claims to rode a ferry boat and had the ticket in hand. But, would not post the ferry route nor the price of the ticket because that was a lie too. He rides Greyhound buses for days he claims. A greyhound bus to his search areas, that alone explains everything. He claims to take a ladlle and whisk for pancakes when backpacking, even an amateur knows better then that. Duct tapes his socks too. Maybe duct taping his socks keep his pants around his ankles better? He provides nothing, not an ounce of any proof, or documentation but demands it from everyone else. If he had any real Bigfoot knowledge, or done all he has claimed, he would not come to this board. He does searches on YOUTUBE so he can see the terrain and act like he knows the area, or people. He also says he is going to write a book and we all know about those Bigfoot book writers. The only thing he has not claimed, is spinners on his wheelchair wheels and that he has a double wide trailer. His attitude changes in minutes back and forth on this board. One minute real polite and the next minute a real a_hole and mean to all, even Murph, his enemy buddy.

He does post on another board though. Why would he not post here? Simple. Another one of his fictious names. I do not recall the actual site but do remember the site was for a State not even close to Minnesota. The name he uses is Minnesotadave.

Romantisizm vs Reality in BiGfooting..............

by Le Fooooooootseeeeeeeeeee

It all starts out with either a movie(legend of Boggey Creek) or the Patterson/Gimlin film clip recreation doc.We see a disturbing sight.a Sasquatch. This sight is so beautiful,so exciting,so disturbing it fixates us,it hypnotizes us.We Believe.Years later this Belief becomes a calling card to the wilds and byways of America and beyond. We again enter the world of the Sasquatch.Every article every book every report is read and reread looking for clues, commonalities, intangibles.the overlooked childs reports, the oddball reports for eras past.We try and connect with other Bigfooters that have recent information. We want to go Bigfooting! Then steps in Reality..."thats my opinion and you may breifly quote me".....le Footseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

A lot of things

by Murph

take a lead over Bigfoot on the to do list again this year. Thanks to the bad economy and markets.Nearly everyone has to make changes to protect their interests and income. So I doubt very much Bigfoot will get caught this year.

Murph you once said if you can't get biGfoot no-one can"

by Le Footsee sees all

Footseee

by Murph

that is probably how it will play out,at least early in the spring summer.Since the other posters have no idea what the underside of a patch of cedar swamp lichens look like.I will confide to you, whom I think does or at least will carve out a patch and find out.Like the Clark cty WI goat incident BFRO Bigfoot story. If you carve out a four by 8 foot section, perhaps typical of a bigfoot mattress and roll it up.Then carry it under your arm, lICHEN SIDE UNDER!. FROM A DISTANCE YOU WILL APPEAR TO BE CARRYING A LIMP GOAT.JUST AS WE HAVE BEEN CARRYING THOSE LIMP GOATS DUDS AND ANNIE.Since they have no idea about what surprise awaits them if they try it,I will not elaborate further.Other than to say the without that one piece of knowledge. They would have no idea what I mean by look for something out of place.I know much, much more than I dare to say about our big fugitive here. This one from the cedar swamp will give you a lot of clues to his comforts and survival in this country of ours.Just think how quietly you could walk over brittle forest scruff after you make that connection. I'd say more but they don't deserve nor would they work for it!

cedar

by danbury242

Where are the cedar swamps? Do I need to do this again? Rolling up sphagnum moss? Have you tried this? Any photos?
Try it and prove your theory. I have harvested moss, do you have any idea how much water sphagum moss retains? As a blanket? A wet frozen blanket? Offer something that might prove what you claim. You bad mouth us but can not offer anything that even supports your ideas.

Lichens, moss whatever you want to call it

by Murph

has an under layer of material that has the consistancy of a rubber carpet liner only anywhere from 2 to 6 inches thick. When DRY has an excellent insulating property and is softer than your baby buns.It has been used in the past for everything from carpet ,to bedding to, roof shingles, chinking and etc.You could probably fashion moon boots out of it if you tried hard enough or need was great enough.Don't try to out fox the fox little one!

The scientists who did the excavation

by Murph

were probably little more than grave robbers. They thought they had found a tomb as that is what it turned out to be for I think it was six Squatch. In actuality the way they were found without any sign of violent deaths. It was likely that their hillside home was snowed in and any cracks that provided air were snow & iced over in a blizzard. They just suffocated in their sleep.Another possible weakness in Bigfoot perhaps.Maybe even a clue for someone who hopes to find something similar in their wanderings. You need to have the right area the right tools and the right attitude dudes.Crashing around in the woods after dark is just going to get you punished by the eventual encounter with a very black bear and her cubs.I have seen how fast mama bear moves to protect her cub.It will be the scariest second and a half of your life! But I quess that's what you are out there for, just maybe not quite that much.Hahaha Yum Yum,cheechakoos for a midnight snack, pass the brewskies and dig in cubbies.

That sums it up nicely.

by Anonymous

Except he should call the Girl Scouts instead. Boy Scouts would be to far advanced I think?

But, maybe we both are underestimating him? After all, he claims to be the one that came up with the current standards used by all for DNA.

He also claims to ride Greyhound for days at a time to get to his claimed research areas. That should explain it all too.

Nothing of value from you.

Ever. Danbury242 is a very nice person with accurate information with documentation to back it all up. You never have anything to show but a mouth flapping in the wind. And it usually contains the same thing that comes out a Bulls back end, BS.
