With the Bigfoot slow to make their appearance

by Murph

[the dear ticks are out and about] have turned attention to yard clean up and etc.Went to the graveyard to see how things looked there.Talked to a guy who was digging, about boulders and where they toss 'em. He also said at about 6 feet down there is a layer of blue clay. Now, blue clay has long been associated with diamonds and gold.It turns yellow when exposed to the sun for a while, but is blue when freshly dug.Interesting tidbit to know about the area for sure.Keep up your searches and you may get lucky now and then. The blue clay comment brought thoughts about three or four streams/creeks in the area that need further study.

Road kill cafe????????

by doc-you know who again

Wisconsin hunters launch road-kill record Web site
RiverTown Newspaper Group

The men came up with the concept last summer when Randy Iten, formerly of Hudson and now of Prescott, discovered a huge black bear lying in a ditch along I-94 - it had just been struck by a truck.

Iten, a lifelong hunter, was enroute to a game farm to train his young bird dog and knew exactly what to do, he called the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources service center in Baldwin to report the road kill.

The DNR officer who took the call assured Iten they would pick up the bear immediately.

Following his dog-training session, Iten stopped by the DNR office to make sure the big bear had been collected.

While discussing the situation with officers, Iten asked what was going to become of the bear. He was told it would be sold for $50. Iten, who has hunted bear many times, offered to pay the $50 and was issued a seizure permit.

The bear was loaded onto a trailer and taken to Iten's taxidermist for mounting.

Following discussions with his hunting companion, Richard Sanders of Prescott, the two formulated the idea of a record book for road-kill animals.

"Some of the best whitetail bucks in the country are killed on the highways every fall during the rut," said Iten.

"It's a shame to just leave them lie there. One of the nicest whitetail bucks I have ever seen got hit by a car not five miles from my house. Big deer like that should be recognized," he added.

As the two discussed the Web site concept, they formed specific categories for road-kill animals - big game, game birds, predators, small game and furbearers, etc.

"This started out as a joke between Richard and me, but the more we thought about it the more it appealed to us," said Iten.

"Who is to say that a huge road-kill black bear like the one I came upon should not be entered into the record book? Road-kill animals can't be listed in Pope & Young, Boone and Crockett or the Safari Club record books, so why not give them their own place of registration? Just because they got hit by a truck or a car doesn't make them any less important to nature," he added.

Iten and Sanders point out on their Web site that picking up road kill is illegal in some states or, at least, may require a seizure permit from conservation officers.

"We urge our members to always check the legalities of picking up a road-kill animal with their local DNR game and fish department," said Iten.

The Road Kill Record Book Club offers memberships, record book listings, an annual awards division plus wearable safety gear - caps, T-shirts, etc.

Our troops today

by Murph

have what is called an m -4 as a combat weapon. This is not a question of what you or I might have argued years ago.If I and YOU would be in combat today.A 7.62 NATO type round {or sporting equivalent of the 30:06} vs .226 hornet of the m-16. This new contoversy is more than that of caliber, range and accuracy. It is about functionality.Does the Colt M-4 actually perform under combat conditions to the point where troops have confidence in it.Since there are obvious concerns about leadership and chain of command top to bottom.Especially top.To have functional concerns about even the weapon in your hands. This makes our troups extremely vulnerable in the sands of soon to be radioactive Arabia. If I were Alfred E. Nobody and soon to be civilian court under investigation ex government official and ex presidentee.I would lend an ear to the arguement ,mosst especially after 4,000 plus deaths in the service of my assinine"While Bin Laden walks free!KMA,you fuks!

I am afraid of hungry mama bears with little ones and all of them are hungry and afraid for the kids. The truth is, I lost my purse somewhere and had no money available to me for that morning. No money, no drivers license, no ID. I went to the woods by my brothers' house. I believe your assessment years ago is correct. It is a travel lane and a huge game trail that extends through swamp covering two counties. I need a favor from you Murph. Tell Joe to check his web site for a nasty trojan called JS/PSYME. It likes to reside in internet temporary files. My virus detector catches it after I open his message board. Please retrieve my email address from Preston. You know how I am about putting up me addy with the likes of the imposter poster.

by Murph

did not help matters as far as travel. The St.Croix was a little high and the water verrrry cold, brrr.Road shoulders are very soft and must be avoided, most, if not all atv trails are closed.Canoe or foot traffic only, pick yer poison.Deer are plentiful and most of the migratory birds are back.If it gets to near 70 the next two days as advertized those big black sleepiheads will be up and about.Locals are catching some redhorse down on the St.Croix and other rivers in the area.Time to get the smoker ready!

Was up that way

by Murph

didn't read the post,so went further north lookinh for lunker laker agates.Paid 3.49 for gas,so I guess a fishing license and 3 or 4 meals a week that way will cool the grocery business a bit.At the little cafe I go to,that's all they talk about is fishing and hunting.High grocery prices up here only means product in the coolers and on the shelves gathering dust or getting freezer burn. The locals are fighting back the only way they can.

I am preparing for blacktop and getting my landscaping done in order to have more time later in the woods.I wonder when I'll see my camp shovel again? Have help coming in late next week to rake, burn and transplant flowers and rake in grass seed. As far as burning in Wisconsin, you need to have a permit[free]you must call to find out if it is ok and tell them where and when you plan to burn. If your fire gets out of hand call the fire dept.Go to the bank, pack your things and get a new identity in Jamaica mon!!LOL

You are just too damn wealthy. What a catch.LOL. I feel a little let down thought. Your double wide was a much better home than the one I have in Arizona. It is a good thing you are good with money and investments or you would still have to put in the 40 hrs. per week. My granddaughter is so cute. I stopped in to see her today and I couldn't kiss her enough. I still need to put down some mulch to keep the weeds out of the garden.

Do you think it will be good to go soon for the spring push?

Biscardi in South Carolina

by Doc-Bigfoot-see-see-see-see

Lizard-man? Bigfoot? bear? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaBigfoot in S.C.? | Experts: ‘it’s the real deal’
‘It’ attacked a van in Bishopville and attracted a Bigfoot-hunting team to the state
By RANDY BURNS - The (Sumter) Item
BISHOPVILLE — Something apparently attacked Bob and Dixie Rawson’s van in the early morning hours of Feb. 28.

The Rawsons live about two miles southeast of downtown Bishopville. They woke up Feb. 28 to find the front fender of their 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan chewed up, bite marks through the front grill, wheels on both sides bitten and metal crumpled in a wad. There was also blood on the front and sides of the car.

While there has been no “official” sighting of the Lizard Man since July 1988, the Rawsons’ evidence has created a stir, not just locally but nationwide.

After the Rawsons contacted a Columbia TV station, the story was aired on CNN. In March, filmmaker and self-proclaimed Bigfoot hunter Tom Biscardi and his five-man team visited Bishopville to discover the truth of the Lee County incident.

Equipped with thermal imagers and high-tech cameras, Biscardi conducted initial forensic tests and sent the evidence to California. The team also planned to use its cameras overnight in search of the creature.

The initial evidence found by Biscardi’s team is compelling, he said. “You’ve got the real deal here.”

While Biscardi hasn’t ruled out it was a bear, he thinks it was more likely a Bigfoot. “They’re called different names in the different communities,” he said.

The creatures have three toes, Biscardi said. They range in height from 6 to 9 feet and weigh 300 to 800 pounds. They are hairy. They climb trees and move around by doing what Biscardi describes as knuckle walking.

More than 3,500 Bigfoot creatures exist nationwide, Biscardi said. “They’re nocturnal creatures and they’re migratory,” he said. “They move from south to north this time of year.”

Biscardi said he doesn’t know if Bishopville’s latest incident is related to the 1988 sighting of the Lizard Man.

“I am going to talk with Liston Truesdale, who was the sheriff 20 years ago,” Biscardi said. “But I’m mainly concerned with what happened to the Rawsons’ van. I haven’t fallen off a turnip truck. I’m a firm believer that what you have down here is unknown.”

Biscardi doesn’t buy local authorities’ theory that a coyote damaged the Rawsons’ van.

“You can look at the jaw pressure that it took to do this damage,” he said. “It wasn’t a coyote. I think what you have here more than likely is a Bigfoot creature.”

Biscardi said the Rawsons are good, straight-up people.

“I wouldn’t have come 3,100 miles here from California if I didn’t think there’s something here,” Biscardi said. “My main concern is to find out what’s happened here now. This woman (Dixie Rawson) is afraid. They have cats who haven’t come around since this happened.”

More than a month after the incident, Dixie Rawson said she is still concerned about what might be lurking near her home. “Let’s just say that when I go outside, I have my gun with me,” she said.

Biscardi said he works with state and federal officials in many states whenever there’s a sighting.

“I have to admit I have a problem here in South Carolina,” Biscardi said. “What is law enforcement doing to protect these people? Where is the Department of Natural Resources? Where are the game wardens? What is going on here?”

Biscardi’s 2007 film “Bigfoot Lives” won several awards, including best documentary at the Pocono Mountains Film Festival. The documentary includes videos and interviews that show evidence of Bigfoot sightings in Texas, Minnesota, Ohio and Arizona.

Lee County Chamber of Commerce executive director Beth Hedegor said the chamber is embracing the Lizard Man.

While she personally believes the creature that attacked the Rawsons’ van was some type of known animal, probably a bear, she said the publicity is a positive opportunity for the community.

“We are not fighting this,” she said. “This doesn’t have to be a negative. We consider this an opportunity.”

“Lizard Man is Back” T-shirts are for sale at the chamber office on Main Street, Hedegor said. Hedegor gets the T-shirts from Vickie Moniz, owner and operator of the Blossom Shop on North Main Street.

“We have sold more than a hundred so far,” Moniz said. “And we are ordering more.”

Moniz welcomes any publicity about the Lizard Man. “I think I’ll go out there (to the Rawsons) and give this team from California a free Lizard Man T-shirt,” she said.
