What a place!

When I drove around the county in 1994, I stayed for a few days in Moab and stayed at a hostel. I spent a couple of days at Arches, including hiking up to the "Great Arch" (Is that the official name of it?) and man, I just remember thinking, "This place is heaven!"

You know, with all my work in building my private practice, growing this web site and hopefully becoming financially independent someday, I need to think about places like Arches. I would love to take a 4 or 5 day road trip and revisit Arches and some of the other national parks in southern Utah ... it gives me incentive to really work hard to afford to visit again.

Anyway, I have my photos of Arches National Park at my parents' house in New Jersey. I have a scanner now. It's too bad I can't show off them off right now.

Moab, Arches & "Delicate Arch", Steve....

January 17 2007, 12:06 AM

were one of the places we went to for our 6 week Geology Field Camp. We camped at the Moab KAO. Did you?

A beautiful, but desolate area, seemingly. We were envious of the tourists in their RV's and air conditioned cars as we took various measures to keep the little flies out of our orifaces!

I'll have to bring my photo albums to Colorado and show you the pics of that trip. I don't have a scanner.

We are going in the summer...

Moab is only about 3-4 hours away, so Paul and I are taking a trip out there in the summer. I went to Bryce Canyon in '05 which was incredible enough. Gotta be careful about bringing booze over state lines though....

I saw a TV spot about how Moab is

March 18 2007, 11:20 AM

now a popular place for mountain biking the old petrified sand dunes. They said the sandstone provides a very good surface to bike on... no mud holes, lots of traction.
