John Brown University Director of Athletics Robyn Daugherty has announced that John Miglarese will be the new mens soccer coach at JBU.
We are excited for John to join the JBU staff, said Daugherty. He brings great energy and motivation, as well as a commitment to excellence on and off the field.
Daugherty added that she expects Miglarese to fit in right away and be very involved in his players development athletically, spiritually and academically.
Miglarese has spent the past four seasons as head coach of Covenant College (Lookout Mountain, Ga.), which is a member of the NAIAs Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).
In those four years, Miglarese has accumulated an overall record of 39-31-5.
This past fall, his squad finished with a 10-8-2 record while reaching the AAC tournament championship.
In 2007, he guided his team to a 15-4-1 record, which included Miglarese receiving Conference and Region Coach of the Year honors after leading his team to a regular season AAC title, Region XII title, and NAIA National Tournament appearance.
Before his stint at Covenant, Miglarese served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Gardner-Webb University (N.C.) from 2003-2005. In 2002, he received his masters degree in sports management while working as a graduate assistant at his alma mater Georgia Southern throughout the year. Prior to that, he served as an intern assistant for men's and women's soccer at Milligan College (Tenn.) in 2000.
