no talent in the new incomers at all... he cant get anyone good and he needs a lot of players to replace the ones he lost.

I repeat, do you have firsthand knowledge of the abilities of each of the 8 incoming freshmen?

I know all but one

KM from E Paulding is probably the best of the class and thats not saying a whole lot. I find it hard to believe that these players were watched at all.

And you know all their names? And you've seen them all play so many games each that you can make such an all-knowing assessment of their udder lack of talent?

Yes

Your statement is correct except for the udder part.

One of these players, and I'm not referring to KM, was offered spots on at least 5 other college teams. I'm sure most if not all the other recruits also had options to play for other colleges as well. So obviously you're not so great at determining which players do or don't have talent.

Agree. My daughter had 18 offers, ranging from very good to "What was the name of your school again?" The number while it may be flattering has nothing to do with the quality.

and if you're going to agree with yourself you might want to wait longer than 5 minutes to do it next time.

hahaha...i did not comment on my own...i am not old enough to have an 18 year old daughter...and i dont need to agree with myself there are plenty of people who are agree with that fact that the recruits are not going to help this team much no matter how many offers each of them got.

This class does not in any way stack up to the class Columbus and Armstrong signed

July 12 2009, 10:39 AM

Simple as that.

Actually she had a couple of D1 offers as well as offers from a few teams you'd probably consider "more worthy" in the PBC. But as most people realize there are a lot of factors that go into a college decision so she chose North Georgia and she is very happy with her decision and her new team, thank you.

we'll see how she feels after the first year...actually it might only take a semester to realize she wont be very happy with the team.

its not the team

July 12 2009, 9:31 AM

The girls are a great bunch.... CA is the issue. very nice guy - just not a good coach and inconsistent.

NGA is very good school and Dahlonega a great town. not everyone who plays in college is looking to win a national championship. playing has its advantages and the experience is one to be cherished.

we should support girls and guys with whatever decision they make-

That is true...the main issue is the coach...but why would the coach want to recruit girls who want to play but not win a national championship????

Not every program

July 12 2009, 8:17 PM

Not every program is destined for the National Championship. As far as NGA- until CA is gone they will not compete beyond the conference. They could but need a change at the top-

You cant' build a program by giving freshman the bulk of minutes every year- if the freshman deserve the minutes then you question the recruiting in the previous years-

but CA has proven for many yrs that freshman play then the time reduces each year after that for most of them.

Again a great guy- just not a good coach. Great school- but soccer is not high on the priority list- just look at the field- each year seems to get worse- this is directly related to the leadership-- ie.... the coach.

Re: Not every program

If CA could maintain a roster, and build off that, he would have a very solid, competitve team! But he loses 3-4 players every year once the inconsistencies of his coaching philosphy are exposed. The really good programs like CSU build each years team from the strenghts of the previous years, but this does not happen at NGCSU under Adams. Every year, his new class of "superstars" subplant the girls who fall out of his favor the previous year, so they are laways in a rebuilding mode. This school needs a new coach if they are ever going to compete on a reagular basis.....

Re: Not every program

July 13 2009, 12:26 PM

Exactly..the team is not as good because the coach is recruiting players who want to play but not win a national championship..its not fair to the other girls...

but all the new incoming freshman do play more than anyone else every single year...its the only way he knows how to get players....he tells the recruits that if they came here that they will see the field a lot and that they are going to play over starters he already has and they dont even have to try...the recruits like that because for another school they were told they might only play a little here or there but they have to beat out the other person in their postion....so they think i can play for a bit or i can play a lot...so they go to NG where they can play a lot and not have to worry about winning a national championship....that sums up CA recruiting system!!!

Nice One!

July 15 2009, 9:07 PM

Who ever you are, Mr. or Ms. Player, I'm proud of you for your honesty and determination. If you're an NGCSU player, take ownership ... be a mentor and possitive role model to the incoming freshman. Great teams are made up of every-day people who develop a trust and cohesive partnership with one another. Remember the 80's US Olympic Hockey team who went on to be gold medal winners - they were just a bunch of young kids who had a bit of talent and a lot of passion. Yea yea, I know, they had a hellava coach. But on game day, the coach sits off the field. It's you. Your team. Your sweat. Don't let these Forum "BLOW HARD'S" and sideline wanna-be's assume some form of influence. They're not even capable or brave enough to use they're own name!!
