AASU Soccer Moves Up To No. 19 In NSCAA Top 25 Poll
SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Armstrong Atlantic State women's soccer team moved up four spots in the latest NSCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches' poll, checking in at No. 19 with today's release of the rankings.
The Pirates (4-1-1) were unbeaten in last week's action, earning a 1-1 draw at preseason Sunshine State Conference favorite Saint Leo and earning a 3-0 win over Lander in both squads' Peach Belt Conference opener.
This is the third week that the Pirates have appeared in the poll and AASU is one of two teams from the PBC in the rankings - Columbus State moved up one spot to No. 6. Another PBC team, North Georgia, is among teams that are receiving votes in the poll.
Two opponents that AASU has played already this season are mentioned in the poll also - Florida Tech is at No. 18 and Saint Leo is among teams receiving votes.
Head coach Eric Faulconer's squad hits the road on Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. match up at Wingate in Wingate, N.C.
