would be nice to be serious. there are still young ladies there looking for someone to lead them. we shouldn't bash the institution since it isn't a top DII or DI program. |

order the get the position approved through the School Board. Remember, sports don't come first at a lot of schools. Could be religion, or something else. |

| Really? | April 25 2012, 7:50 AM |
This isn't a high school, therefore there is no school board. This is a state university so there shouldn't be any issues with religion (however, I don't see a Muslim fitting in very well in Americus, GA). The most likely reasons include the school's poor excuse for an athletic department and it's located in Americus, GA. |

Rumor has it that no one has even applied for the job. This may be the toughest job in America to sell to a coach. |

have the position approved (requirements and salary) before advertising it to the public. May not be a priority, as I said before. |

Here is the job posting. Been open since 2/24/12. The is no Board Approval and does not go through the state. School hires a new coach unless they discontinue the program. Problem in getting a quality coach is the funding.

that they post the start date as August 1? Or is that standard lingo? I would think they'd start ASAP... |

| Re: Is it odd | April 26 2012, 3:49 PM |
its a 10 month contract.. June and July are not paying months. You may work but salary is over 10 months not 12. thats the reason for the August 1 start date. Whoever takes the job will start right away- players won't be on campus until August. |

Yes they would do camps in June or July but at this point its to late- thats how they would supplement the 10 month contract. |

I think the poster was saying that it is a job in the Peach Belt and is a good conference. Top Peach Belt coaches make more than many DI coaches. Don't think this is the case with GSW however. |
