Price isn't everything. Some of these rods aren't all that great in my opinion - I think some of these Powell rods are overpriced even at the 'clearance' prices. As to their casting feel/abilities, well, that's why Sierra Trading has them on closeout - they didn't sell that well, and the models are being discontinued. I tried the Advantage XL, an imported rod which STP has been hawking for a couple of years now and found the 8wt slow and VERY dead-feeling, no sensitivity to speak of despite the medium-slow action. It also was designed for only freshwater use with small guides and tip-top. You can do better, I think for the money.
