Redington rods in general

I've had nothing but bad luck with this company. Bought a DFR, which at the time, was their top of the line rod. It is the only rod that I've had break on a cast. Pretty rod, so-so casting abilities, ended up donating it to a TU banquet. Next, traded for a Nano-Titanium Nti 9'8wt. Broke it landing a striper. Was sent a Nti-Q as a replacement. These were the rods with quartz in the scrim for, purportedly, "breakage resistance." This rod also broke while lading a fish. Granted, both the Nti and the Nti-Q were absolute cannons, right up there with the Loomis GLX (somewhat similar feel, I guess...) But, c'mon, 3 rods broken? I have not purchased or cast one of their rods since Sage bought the company, but would be hesitant to do so due to my previous experiences with them. Jim Murphy, the owner prior to Sage, started Albright Rod Co., so I'm curious to see the quality of those rods, which I've never cast. Tight lines, Dan

seems like you need to learn how to land a fish.

I have an 8 wt. Wayfarer and also an 8 wt. RS4. These rods are affordable, pack easily and present with excellent rod speed. They are very durable and tolerate the abuse of clients who think they are casting a "nine iron." Reommend highly.
