Redington Wayfarer 7 Wt

I started out having really good feelings about this rod. It cast well, was forgiving and consistantly handled 8+ lb Steelhead with almost no broken tippets. Until it broke on my second fish of the day earlier this month I was very confident in this rod (broke in the second section about an 1.5" below the tip section furrel). I'm awaiting my replacement and plan to fish it somemore for Steelhead. Hopefully this experiance was the exception and not the rule. However, I've been hearing more and more about boken Redington rods.

Good luck, I just broke my 10' 7 for the 3rd time, all near the last furrel. I think the 5 pieces are weak there, a place that doesn't exist on a 4 piece.

I bought a 5 piece 10 ft-7wt for a buddy and he has broken it four times, mostly while fighting fish (once on a fall). Now, we all know that rods break but these things cast wonderfully but are just too fragile to trust on that "fish of a lifetime." Get a Loomis or a high end Cabelas.
