Can anybody help me with advice on how to deal with opponents who love to wrestle defensively (i.e. sprawl, never shoot etc.). I feel like I should be able to dominate this type of guy but matches always seem to end up close. Thanks for your help.

They taught this at Ohio Stae Wrestling camp in 1984.

If you have an opponent that is on the defense, go all out after him.

Example move: the double leg tackle, it was fun and it got people to wrestle.

I usually used the double leg trip, go in for a double leg then take your leg and trip the opponent back.

On the mat, they tend to stall, run the spiral (half nelson). Or kick em out and take em down all day.

I didn't get this from Ohio State Wrestling camp...I got the spelling right this time.

Lock up; big guys (bruts, oaks, etc.) they love locking up, then play the stall game with them and grab a heel.

The move: heel pick, it works...it helps having long arms.

Also on the mat; if they stall, throw in the legs.
You can do a banana split, it gets you a quick 3 points.
