First time head cast help

I'm about to attempt my first full head cast. I've cast things like face parts or flat things with alginate but have never done an enclosed body part. Can anyone give me advice on creating a cast with a split to get the model out of it, but in a way that I can rejoin it in a seamless fashion? Should I be casting the front and back of the head seperate or can I do it as one piece?

On a side note, I was thinking of using Body Double from Smooth-on (http://www.smooth-on.com). Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks.

Hi ,

I was an sfx make up artist before and u need an assistant to do this so you can take care of the ears and nose and the back part. for alginate you just have to slice it at the back but the stone to support it would be two ...that is one part in fron and onepart at the back

thats it !
