hello,
i am looking to cast a male body from the knees to the neck but am having trouble deciding what materials to use.
i would like to create a cast that isnt made of a hard material - it needs to be something that can be touched, almost skin like / rubbery /foamy but the project also needs to be cheap.
any suggestions would be muchly appreciated
thanks

Could you use bread? or Chocolate? Those would be cheaper. I would go with a silicone if you want skin like feel, but that doesn't fit into the cheap part.

Maybe a urethane rubber, but again price and even possible inhibition to the moisture in mold.

Just trying to think outside the box....

Unfortunately you have come to the wrong place if you are looking for answers to your lifecasting questions...I have been asking question for awhile now and the only answers I ever get are from people trying to get me to buy extra crap that I don't need because I have it already. So the best advice that I could give you would be to go to the "smooth on" web site. There they have a phone number that you can call and they have technitions standing by that will answer your questions.

I really hope this helps you because this forum has been really useless to me. why I keep checking it I have no idea.

What about a polymer clay mold? They work wonderful. I dont know exactly if thats what you are looking for, I'm a newbee but they make great molds and they hold very fine detail. You can use them over and over again and they are a peice of cake to release without a release agent. Try scupley.com
