hi

Can i make a silicon(rebound smoothon) mold of a allready finished plaster/
hydrocal cast; to reproduce an exact copy.
Any tips how to do this succesfully. I tried once and the first layer of the cast came of. Maybe is should have let it dry first a week or so.
Thank you

Shouldn't have problems taking a silicone mold from a plaster. With silicone the plaster doesn't neccessarily need to be dry but wouldn't hurt. It does need to be sealed, ei. Krystal Clear acrylic spry, or 3-4 layers of a paste/floor wax, etc. Being silicone, it shouldn't need a release once the plaster is sealed. Just be aware that Platinum bases silicones are sensitive to some chemicals and won't set up correctly around said materials.

Any clear acrylic spray will work. Krystal Clear is a brand. (not sure on the spelling though)
