Was woundering if anyone could tell me if the B&M had 90 ton hoppers during the 1920's-30's era and if so what did they look like (color, decals and so forth). Thanks in advance.

Hello Joe: I believe the four bay offset hoppers from 1929-30 in the #8000 series were the largest capacity at 70 tons. That seems to cover the time period you were asking about. The B&M had 1000 of them. The last of them were retired in the mid sixties. BTW, the blue hopper that Athearn sells with the McGinnis logo is bogus. That paint and logo never happened. So far as I know the only color was black. I hope this was helpful. Al

ya that helped as I was a little confused by the different cars that are out on the market. Just one question, what was the decal used on these hoopers or was there one? Thanks

Hello Joe: The logos for the hoppers would have been what was known as the rectangular logo in use at the time the cars were built. In 1947 the Minuteman logo was used until the end of these hoppers. Any cars shopped after 1947 would have received the Minuteman. Al
