Returning to yesterday's lesson: "A meaningless world engenders fear."
NOTE: to Realize anything is to begin seeing with God's vision...thus, real eyes.
Recognition of meaninglessness arouses intense anxiety in all the separated ones.
(If you are anxious, "real eyes" that you are no doubt unaware that you are feeling separated.)
“A meaningless world engenders fear because I think that I am in competition with God.”
This statement may offer some resistance, in that you are really afraid of such a thought...
***Any of us are in competition with God when we want to rescue, enable, and etc. some one who is essentially quite able to help themselves, but is resisting becoming responsible for themselves.**
***Mary Perle of North Little Rock, ARK maintains the “Golden Rule” Is: “Do unto others what they would do unto you?” And the “Silver Rule” Is: “Don’t do anything for any one if they are able to do it themselves”...I add, unless it is your boss or very small children.”**
Course: It is a case where our ego's challenges God as to whose meaning is to be written in the empty spaces the meaninglessness provides.
It will be essential for you to recognize the meaningless, and learn to accept it without fear. If your fearful...it is certain that you will endow the world with attributes it does not possess and crowd it with images that do not exist.
To the ego, illusions are safety devices, as they must be to those who equate with the ego.
At paragraph 4, lesson 13, highlight to the end and let me hear from you. This is our first attempt at stating an explicit cause and effect relationship of a kind which you are very inexperienced in recognizing.
"I was really glad that I had read these lessons several times, as well as the text, when I really got what this lesson meant to me. Which was: I was ready to take over for God at a heartbeat, because I thought that it would make my ego look so good?" I was not in the least aware of how it mangled the other person's competence."
"A meaningless world engenders fear."
