Dave...to a very new beginner? There is so much that you know, but do not know that you know it. Reading ACIM reveals to you what you already know that is True and Good about you and what you see and how you see it.
This book is a very high per cent spiritual essence...
Often when we pick up this book, we are of a low caliber spiritual essence and a high level of ego crap, meaning we dont know nothing from nothing. Sounds like you have admitted that. I admitted this, too.
None of us knew what was in this book when we reached for the book and opened it. Did you know what was in your 1st grade reader when you opened it? Did you read on? Or did someone say, oh, you dont wanna read that? Could 'they' have talked you out of learning to read?
If you continue to read the message in here, there is 'one' that goes right along with it, and always aggravating your boots off, called "ego", and his message is "seek, but do not find."
You have a choice. You can say to ego, "I will seek and I will find." and go for it. Or, you can comply to ego needs...which you already are, like it or not? I still am, and I've read it many times and taught for over 20 years...doest mean a hot biscuit.
Remember, you may not take in a great deal if you have a high percent ego mind...but when you decide to seek and decide to find the Inner Peace touted in this book, one increses the caliber of the spiriutal mind and that lowers the caliber of the ego influence...again, I say go for it.
Please do not wait for another to tell you what to do...like it or not, if they do, you are still making your own decision.
I have written a page on how to get started and you may ask for it. I highly suggest that as you read that you do not blabb a thing to any one, unless you have a partner that is moving at your speed, but encourage them not to blabb. The ego just loves for one to blabb, then he gets to make one feel so inadequate...try it.
I have been away from this site, but I knew that it would magnetically gravitate to a healed mind that would be there to encourage a ready mind...
We are all so blessed to be handed this book. My sister, a Unity student, sent me hers in 1977, because she always thought me weired...I've never put it down... the message has brought me peice that passes most understanding...wanna stay and find out how? rell
