Are the Redbirds grateful to have the Yellow Finches for tree guests
And get to share their food?
And dine so elegantly?
Do the chirrups and songs sung all day long
Indicate their gratitude as they entertain me?
Is the Green Ash tree grateful to be the home of my friends?
Are the Gray Squirrels happy when the birds drop them seeds?
Are the Brown Groundhogs grateful to have so much interest in their life?
And are the White Tailed Bunnies grateful to be hopping about in happiness?
The Pink Fox...is it grateful to be my wood’s guest?
As it sashshays across the Sacred Circle?
And all the while the Black Crows soar like wimpy little “Eagles”...
And the cute little tiny Toads are everywhere under feet...
What are they grateful for?
That no one has kissed them yet? or...
Taken them out of Toaddom yet
And made them into the handsome Princes?
I bet?
And the Crickets and the Flowers
Are they grateful just to be?
