Lesson #167 "There is one life, and that I share with God."

Lesson #167 "There is one life, and that I share with God."
This life I share with God is like the truth.
Life is the one condition that all creation shares with God.
Like all of God's thoughts…it has no opposites.
There is no death because everything God created shares His Life.
There is no death because an opposite of God does not exist.
There is no death because the Father and Sons are one.
(rell: If we can not be scared to death…no one can manipulate us!)
In this egoworld there seems to be a state of life's opposites.
We call this state "death."
It is the state to which all feelings underlie
That are not supremely happy.
We tend to ring the "death alarm"
When we are not extremely happy or it is not perfect joy.
We allude to death when we face sorrow
Loss, anxiety, and suffering and pain…
Even a little sigh of weariness or the merest frown…
We acknowledge death.
This way we deny we live.
We "think" death is of the body.
It is only an idea, but not an idea of God's.
A "thought" is in the mind…
Our minds direct out thoughts…for either fear, or love.
If we desire a change,
It will be done in our minds…in our thoughts.
(rell: do we want inner peace?)
"Ideas do not leave their source."
The Course emphasizes are placed on this idea.
And it is due to us being able to change our minds about ourselves.
It is the reason we will heal
Ideas that never leave Its Source
Is a truth that establishes us as one with God.
Death is the thought that you are separate from your Creator.
It is the belief:
a) conditions change,
b) emotions alternate because of causes you cannot control,
You did not make, and you can never change.
c) it is the fixed belief ideas can leave their source,
And take on qualities the source does not contain,
Becoming different from their own origin,
Apart from it in kind as well as distance, time and form.
(rell: note here the lower case "s" on source? meaning us; not God…)
Death cannot come from life.
Ideas remain united to their source.
They can extend to all that their source contains.
In that, they can go far beyond themselves.
And where they come from, there will they return.
(I often say we can think what we want to but it doesn't make it so.)
Let us today be children of the truth,
And not deny our holy heritage.
Our life is not as we imagine it.
(even if we think we need to disagree…)
Who changes life because he shuts his eyes,
Or makes himself what he is not
Because he sleeps, and sees in dreams an opposite to what he is?
We will not ask for death in any form today.
Nor will we let imagined opposites to life abide
Even an instant where the Thought of Life Eternal
Has been set by God Himself.
What seems to die is but "mind" asleep.
Yet mind is mind awake or sleeping.
(lets think here of our spirit as life eternal?)
God creates minds awake.
We share one life because we have one Source
A Source from which perfection comes to us,
Remaining always in the holy minds which He created perfect.
As we were, so are we now and will forever be.
No vision now is needed.
For the wakened mind is one that knows its Source,
Its Self, and its Holiness.
"There is one life, and that I share with God."
