| Hello, my name is George and I'm new here. I've been shooting airguns for 20yrs, and I have a small, but nice collection of shooters. A few friends told me about some of the airgun sites online, so I started searching and found this place. I'm very impressed with this forum as I love target airguns, preferably old, but new ones also.
I'm posting to tell you about my first purchase of a target airgun. I was at the local gunshop with my wife yesterday looking for something interesting in the used airgun rack. I came across 2 guns that really got my attention. A mint condition FWB 124 with a custom stock, and a nice Beeman R-1 lazer. Unfortunatley both were out of my price range. I hadn't even noticed the old FWB 150 sitting in the used rack, when my wife pointed it out. Well, lets just say it didn't look good. The bluing is about 75% with no rust, and the stock is about the same. I asked the salesman if he had any chrony info on it, and he told that it was chronied the day before and it was shooting consistant low 600's. So I asked if I could shoot it at their range. Well, after shooting it I was convinced that this should be my first precision target gun. It was so accurate, it was almost like cheating. I just thought about where I wanted the pellet to hit, and the next thing I know there's a hole where I was aiming.
The only downside is that I hadn't asked about the price, and I was expecting the worst. Surely I thought, a gun of this quality, even with the cosmetic problems, was going to be a decent chunk of change. So I took the leap and asked the salesman the price of the gun. He says that the gun belonged to his son and that he would have to give him a call to find out. After 10 minutes of waiting the salesman comes back and says" How about $200"?
I'm staring at it as I write this...
