Three rifles I obtained recently from Germany. Credit to Walther - the quality of workmanship is extraordinary.

And here are some pages

December 7 2006, 11:16 AM

from the manual which came with one of the double trigger 55s. It has 'mit Stecher' (which means 'with hair trigger') stamped after the model details. For some reason the tyrolean stock illustrated on the last page has grip chequering with a 'W' shape like on the HW55T but on the rifle it is the usual more rounded pattern.

W checkering is from the early LG-55 models

They should also have the model stamping on the action perpendicular to the the axis of the barrel ... not lenght wise as the later version with the seagull wing checkering outline. This would apply to LG-55, LG-55M, and LG-55T models.

Thanks for the info. The gun the manual came with is a later one, with writing lengthwise.
