I snowshoed up to Hyak Lake today with the dogs. There were more people ski touring today than I have seen all year. The snow was pretty nice. 10 to 12 inches of pretty good powder on top of a very wet base.
Took the boy over to Alpental for a few runs (him not me) and it was PACKED. The lodges were very busy and selling lots of beer and food. I won't be shocked if they stay open past the first weekend in May.
The rumor from the gals in the shop is that Central might be open again next weekend. I guess the deal is that all the Stevens and Crystal folks are coming here now that their hills have closed.
