CNL owns the property, but it is under a long term lease to Boyne so I don't believe with CNL it hurts or helps one way or another.
I would suggest people who have already purchased season passes for next year start demanding a kick-back since they were promised 4 areas to ride and now one will not be available. The loss of season passes will add up quick...only 100 passes would be $30K and what about Nordic season passes? Who wants to pay for a Nordic pass then have to walk up the mtn? Why buy a nordic pass? They never check for passes on the trails anyway and if you already have to walk up then why buy a pass?
If we have a good snow season next year, the area could end up being a mess. I think I'll use the money normally spent on a season pass and make a few trips to White Pass. It will give me a good reason for a road trip and I really dig WP!!
