| Well, we've lived up here full-time now for 19 years. The first three, Hyak was closed, so taught and skied down the road. But now, after being able to walk out to the hill past Norm's house, we are spoiled. Last year, buying randonnee skis and skins was the best investment ever. I will ski during the week, being retired in 25 days, but will discourage all relatives and friends whom we've influenced over the years to keep buying passes--not to. Sad! But there's always Mission, White, and others. Still Hyak is HOME. Jack, I have done some nice watercolors (cards) of night skiing at Hyak (last time open for night skiing--1996) you might like as a keepsake!!! Both Ed and I would rather hike up than fight the crowds down the road! |
