Hard to skate over boot holes...

I think you can snowshoe up the outsides of the groomed tracks w/o issue. The reason not boot up the middle is because that is where skate skiers go. Not so much fun when you come up fast on a bunch of folks hike (post holing) or snowshoeing down the middle of the trail.

A more fun idea is to skin up the hill and skip the groomed trails altogether.
