Summit East Update: Hidden ValleyMarch 02, 2011
In our last update, we were confident we would be able to have Hidden Valley open this weekend, March 5th and 6th. Sadly, we have determined just a few hours ago that our electric motor has an issue that is not allowing it to run at its full horsepower. Unfortunately this problem was not detectable when testing the lift unloaded, so we were not able to catch it sooner.
Unfortunately the repair cannot be done in place so we are in the process of removing the motor from the lift and having it sent to a motor repair shop in town. We will know more on Friday the extent of the problem and will determine the best solution for quickly getting it repaired or replaced. We will update again in a few days once we know how long this is going to take.
We are very sorry this means Hidden Valley will not be able to operate this weekend. Everything else on the lift has tested out perfect and is ready to go! Were still determined to get this lift ready for some great spring skiing, for which Hidden Valley is well known due to its sunny south exposure!
