Update

June 17 2009, 7:44 PM

I try to show updates with the use of picture uploads to Flikr. So far, just lot of terrain work. They do not plan to remove the Keechelus load station this summer, or install a chair to replace Dino. I'm still keeping hope alive that they will at least run the beginner chair so I can let my kids have some fun on the slopes w/o having to go to uh....Central. Most of the stumps have been hauled away in a dump truck so now they are just pushing dirt around and fixing the drainage. At least there are no more brush problems from the hole on down.

Talked to Norm this AM

June 21 2009, 3:34 PM

Talked with Norm this AM after service at St. Bernard Chapel. He said they will hydroseed this week (all week they have been grading the slope--while Norm's house was further deconstructed). He talked to the guys and they are planning to build some type of road up by the avalanche site (according to the geologist) to bring in the large rocks. It sure has been interesting watching all this. Now that I'm retired and will not have to drive down every day, I'll have my own ring-side seat to watch. He's hoping they'll at least open the little chair this winter. Me too!! Cold at Hyak today--41 on the porch this AM!!

Rocks....

June 22 2009, 2:07 PM

It appears the ski area will pursue the "fill it in with rocks" option. Partial or all the way, but it will take a LOT of rocks to fill in that hole.
